I feel very privileged to be been able to pursue as a career something that I really enjoy and feel passionate about, and I have been fortunate to have worked on a diverse range of projects spanning from small scale niche fit outs to substantial, complex commercial refurbishments and grand residences.
I began my interior design journey with a part time job at Proffitt’s in Bolton (a high end furniture retailer) whilst studying for A Levels, and after completing my BA Hons in Interior Design from De Montfort University, I returned to Proffitt’s for a while as their interior designer before heading off to the Middle East for 4 years to work on high-end residential and palatial projects in the Sultanate of Oman. An amazing and rewarding experience like no other!
Back in the UK I joined an architectural practice in Manchester working on large commercial/retail projects such as The Arndale Centre and The Corn Exchange, and office refurbishment and fit out schemes for the next 6 years. A complete change and a whole new challenge.
A couple of years in the leisure sector and then I enjoyed a return to high end residential work and niche fit outs, based for the next 5 years in Cheshire.
HB Design Interiors affords me the variety to encompass all the wide-ranging skills I have gained over the years designing creative and beautiful, yet practical and functional schemes for residential, commercial, office and leisure sectors. Recently I have been involved with refurbishment work within the Leisure industry for a large national chain, and completed a number of office fit out schemes, providing design schemes and delivering them to site to a successful completion.
Every new scheme starts with the planning to ensure that spatially an interior works and achieves its full potential. Ideas are then developed utilising Cad drawing skills and the concept scheme is produced and presented, before moving onto bespoke detailing and specification. Utilising a comprehensive product knowledge, in furniture, fixtures and soft furnishing, I then source from a wide range of exquisite fabrics, wall coverings and interior products finding the perfect combination from extensive trade sources to suit any style.
I ensure that all elements of the design co-ordinate seamlessly and are tailored to your budget.
With experience of working with planners, conservation officers, and building control, I am able to co-ordinate with other professionals & trades who may be involved in the project.
In achieving design concepts, I bring creativity, enthusiasm and dedication, tempered with practical know-how, to deliver successful projects which fulfill client aspirations and exceed expectations.
Finally, I am very pleased to announce that after a number of years successfully working together, I have recently been appointed a Director at Harrison Ince Architects & Interior Designers Ltd.
Established in 1989, Harrison Ince has excelled in all areas of building design through quality of work, attention to detail and a creative design team.
